Don’t panic! Mother’s Day isn’t in a week or even in a month, I’m just trying to be ahead of the game. For those of you who don’t know, Mother’s Day is on May 13th so mark your calendars!
I feel like Mother’s Day is an important day to celebrate the women in your lives, whether it’s your mom, grandma, friend-with-a-kid, etc. Mom’s are the backbone to a family. Without your mom you wouldn’t be here and it’s important to acknowledge that! I am really close to my mom and I like to remind her that I’m thankful for everything she does for me (which is a lot).
So if you’re struggling to find a gift or don’t know how to show your mom some love this Mother’s Day, just keep on reading!
Everyone loves flowers… well not everyone but almost everyone! Flowers are a really simple way to show your mom some love and you can find them anywhere. I don’t want to say flowers are cheap, especially on days like Mother’s Day, but they’re more wallet-friendly than a diamond ring. You can find flowers almost anywhere so it is a convenient gift and it’s a nice way to show your appreciation but bringing home her favorite flowers.
And your mom is no exception, diamonds are also her best friend. I’m not saying to buy diamonds, but you can’t go wrong with jewelry. Take note of what you see your mom wearing… does she wear a lot of necklaces or earrings? If you don’t see her wear earrings ever, it might not be a great idea to buy her some unless she’s mentioned she would like some! Etsy is a great place to find handmade, one-of-a-kind jewelry your mom will love.
Take Her Out!
You don’t need a physical gift in order to come across as thoughtful! Take your mom out for breakfast, brunch, or lunch to her favorite place or try somewhere you’ve both been wanting to go. Keep your phone turned down so you’re not tempted to check it every few minutes and really just focus on spending time with your mom! Ask her how she’s doing and update each other on what has been going on. She’ll really appreciate the gesture and will love spending time with you! Just don’t forget to pick up that check…
Have a Mother-Daughter (or Son) Spa Day
We all love to be pampered, even if we won’t admit it. If your mom has been stressed lately or you just want to do something a little above and beyond, take her out! Get your nails done together, get a facial, massage, your hair done, or all of the above (okay okay that’s a little excessive). You don’t need to spend hundreds to do this either. Lots of spas will offer Mother’s Day deals, so take advantage of them! Just remember if you do this to make an appointment early! You don’t want to wait until the last minute if you’re having any services done. If this isn’t your thing and you don’t want to go, gift cards are always an awesome gift!
All parents love photo gifts, and the great thing is that they aren’t hard at all to do but make a great gift! Websites like Shutterfly allow you to take your favorite photos and make them into something gift-worthy! On Shutterfly, you can make photo books, pillows, blankets, mugs, calendars, and more and it’s super easy. Depending on what you want to make it might take more time, but it’ll defiantly be worth it. Shutterfly has sales constantly so make sure you keep your eyes open for that, too!
Mother’s Day Basket
I can’t take credit for this one but it was just too cute not to include! I found this idea on Pinterest but I think it originally came from this website. This is something I think I’ll be doing for my mom this year because it looks simple enough but looks like a lot of thought is put into it. You can fill it with whatever you want but I think it’s cute to have a theme! Make a Mom one like the photo above, or you can do a spa one with nail polish, bath bombs/shower steamers, face masks, body scrubs, and that sort of stuff. You can make it a cooking one if your mom likes to look and fill it with recipes and her favorite treats… there’s so much that you can do with this and I think it’s a fun way to get creative!
So what will you do for your mom this Mother’s Day? Let me know in the comments your favorite idea or one that you came up with! I’d love to hear your ideas!
Love you all,
