May Favorites 2018

Another month down means we’re getting closer to summer! I hope you all had a wonderful May and are just as excited as I am for summer (or winter depending where you are)!

Was it just me or did May fly by very quick? Even though it passed me by super fast, I still had several favorites that I’m excited to share with you guys! Keep on reading if you wanna know what I fell in love with this past month.

Elizabeth Arden Sunflowers Perfume

Anyone who knows me knows I love perfume. I love switching up my perfume and I never have a signature scent… even though I want one. Perfume can be expensive though, so I like to make sure I’m all in before going… well… all in. The reason I bought this perfume is because this is the perfume my mom wore on her wedding day so I felt an instant pull to it and bought it at TJ Maxx before I even smelled it. I figured even if I hated it that it would be a nice sentimental perfume to have and it wasn’t expensive at all. Luckily though I do really like it and I found myself wearing it a lot this past month. The smell of this perfume reminds me of summer and has notes of rose, jasmine, musk, cedar, and moss amongst other things. If you’re looking for a summer scent that won’t break the bank, I highly recommend this one!

Pixi Makeup Fixing Spray

Pixi is a brand that I always passed by in the store but never really payed any attention to. Now that I’ve tried it I’m hooked. I haven’t tried a lot of their makeup products, but I have quickly fallen in love with their skin care. After trying out (and loving) some products last month, I decided to try out the makeup fixing spray. I’ve been on the hunt for a makeup setting spray that I will love so I’m open to trying new things. This one claims to “prolong makeup wear and keep it from moving, melting, and settling into fine lines or pores” and I definitely see that. After applying makeup, I spray this on and my makeup looks 10x better. It gives a soft-focus matte look without making my face look dry which I love as someone who has very dry skin. If you’re in the market for a new makeup setting spray, head over to Target and pick this one up!

Velour False Eyelashes in Short and Sweet

I am new to the false eyelash game. I have always liked how they look on people, but struggled to find ones that would look good on me. I learned very quickly what might look good on one person might look awful on another. It makes sense, we all have different eye shapes and sizes. So after countless tries and fails, Velour Lashes released their “Effortless Collection.” I was a little scared to try yet another pair of $30 lashes just to have them look ridiculous on me but I decided I would try one more time and if these didn’t work, I’d give up for good. I decided on the style “Short and Sweet” that have an invisible band, are 4-9 mm long, and have natural volume. The Effortless Collection is supposed to give you a “natural flawless look” with no trimming needed. When I got them, I was a little worried because they looked more dramatic than they did online. However when I tried them on, I fell in love. They weren’t as dramatic as I thought they might be and have a really pretty effect that really enhanced my eyes. I wore them to work and got so many compliments and no one thought they were fake and were shocked when I told them they were. So if you wanna try false lashes but don’t know where to start, I suggest the Effortless Collection by Velour Lashes (can also be found in Sephora).

Zoeva Naturally Yours Eyeshadow Palette

A few months ago I did a full review on this eyeshadow palette and even then I liked it a lot. This month, however, I was doing a lot of no-makeup makeup and gravitated towards this one. For days when I was in a rush, I used “Pure” as my base color, “Soft and Sexy” as a crease shade, “Casual Elegance” (sometimes wet) on the inner half of my lid, and “First Love” as my brow bone highlight. I really like this palette because you can do a lot of different looks with it from natural to more glam. If you’re into the no-makeup look, I think this would be a great option and wouldn’t break the bank!

Active Wow Teeth Whitening Charcoal Powder

For a long time, I thought the whole charcoal teeth whitening thing was a gimmick. I always saw videos on Instagram ads of people doing it but didn’t think it could work. Recently, I have been feeling self-conscious about my teeth because they weren’t as white as I wanted them to be and I felt like they were noticeably yellow. I decided I’d try anything to whiten them so I wouldn’t feel like my teeth were distracting. In reality, everyone’s teeth are yellow, that’s just how it is. No one should feel like they are inferior because their teeth aren’t as white as a celebrity’s. But if you’re like me and you drink coffee and soda, your teeth get stained. So I ordered this on Amazon and tried it right away. I instantly noticed a huge difference in how white my teeth were and was shocked. I couldn’t believe I waited so long to try this. I am going to continue using this and plan to do an update/full review with pictures within the next couple weeks.

Flawless Legs – Instant and Painless Ladies Hair Remover

For my lazy ladies out there, this is for you. I know I’m not the only one who hates shaving. I love the results, but I hate the process. Shaving in the shower easily adds a good 10-15 minutes and with summer coming, I can’t really miss a day without shaving. I was at Ulta and saw this on sale and decided to give it a try and I think I’ve shaved once in the shower in the past 2 months. Not only is this much quicker, but it is impossible to cut or knick yourself with this. I haven’t had any razor burn or irritation and as someone who has incredibly sensitive skin, that is a must. I will say this gives you a close shave, but you won’t be as smooth as you would with traditional shaving cream and razor but I’m fine with that and if you forget to shave and have to go out in shorts, this is the way to go.

I hope you guys enjoyed this month of favorites! Did you have any favorites this month? Let me know in the comments below!
